Street Photography with Mel DiGiacomo

Funny old man, but, he has many great shots from the street.

Bridging the Gap: Classical Art Designed for Photographers

I believe there is some information we can learn from it.  IMHO, the speaker could have explained the concept or design better.  At least it’s better than nothing.

In his talk, he analyzed some work from famous artists or photographers, how simple lines or arcs formed in the art work, and how those were used to emphasize the subject and how to make the subject popped.  Some explanation, IMHO, might be a little bit of stretch and I don’t think the photographer saw it that way when the picture was taken.  But what do I know.  It could be that it’s the second nature to the photographer.

In Camera Artistry: Using Any Light Source

This video is a little long (about 1 hr 44 mins), but, there is no shortcut to learn how to better use of light for photography. The speaker is funny, and the “make over” he showed in the video is fantastic. Hope you have fun as much as I did and learn some from him.

What Catches Your Eyes?

When you look at a picture, what actually catches your eye?  Is it the IQ of the picture, the sharpness, the color, the composition, the story, etc.?  IMHO, understanding this topic would change the way you take pictures and how to PP your pictures in the future, so that you can present a picture that will catch the viewers’ eye.

Spend a few minutes to come up with a list of what catches your eye when you look at a picture first.  Then, spend about 40 mins to go through this video.

Start the video at 00:53:30.

If you have time, feel free to start from the beginning.  The speaker talked about how to use wide angle lenses and telephoto lenses to capture images.  But, I think the later half in the video has more info.  The speaker is clearly a Canon guy.  When you start from the beginning, replace the Canon lenses with your favorite’s, the rest of the content should be applicable to any camera.
